... FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT
The ESC is run by a small team at present and
employment opportunities are few. For specific posts that are
currently available, please see JOBS page.
... FOR VOLUNTEER HELPERS
The ESC welcomes enquiries from potential volunteers who are
well qualified in environmental sciences and/or education.
In general, longer term volunteers are most useful to us and
will benefit most from on-the-job training and experience.
Volunteers are responsible for their own food and accommodation
costs.
At the moment, we would love to hear from teaching
assistants
(eg. student teachers) and qualified and experienced geography
/ biology teachers (eg. retired) to do occasional
teaching days.
... FOR RESEARCH
The ESC welcomes research co-operation initiatives from anyone
pursuing, or interested in starting, research related to the
environment of Western Cyprus.
Normally, visiting researchers will be expected to provide
their own food and accommodation, and to pay a fee for the use of
lab/office/library facilities at the Centre.
However, the ESC will consider sponsoring, through the
provision of free facilities, any research which will directly
contribute to its aims and activities. This could include: flora
and fauna of the area (especially invertebrates), any ecological
research, physical landscape processes, impacts of tourism and
other human activities on the region, social / economic studies of
rural communities.
