food03.jpg (43533 bytes)Catering for visiting groups is normally provided by the local taverna called Kefalovriso (Head Spring),  which acts as our school canteen and is within a few minutes walk of the ESC and accommodations. Breakfast and evening meal are taken at the taverna, whilst packed lunches are collected from there after breakfast, to be eaten out on the field sites.

Breakfast typically includes a choice of Nescafe, tea or herb tea, fruit juice, toast or fresh bread, butter and jam or local honey, together with an egg and either bacon, halloumi or cheese, alternating with cereal.

The packed lunch includes two sandwiches of some combination of ham, cheese, tuna, salad etc. plus some fruit.

Evening meal menus are varied, consisting typically of a main dish plus two or three side dishes, salad and bread. Special dietary requirements can nearly always be catered for, such as vegetarian or gluten-free, provided we are given sufficient notice.
